Finally, on TLC's Strange Sex Series, Macrophilia!

I was watching TLC Strange Sex; Matt on the TLC series gets turned on by giantesses destroying a city and crushing him. He was so excited that he got a part in a giantess video. His friend can't understand the nature of this fantasy fetish, macrophilia (meaning love of the large, love of size), asking the usual question: how can one actually incorporate this fetish into actual sex, into an actual relationship? What's the scoop with this one, and is there a gay counterpart?

What's even more strange is this fetish came up at a social gathering I attended some time ago. In fact, for many years, Bijou Video has carried Attack of the Amazing Colossal Latino, often billed as the ultimate movie for size queens. Interestingly enough, Attack of the 50 Foot Woman was made about the same time. The theme of giants and giantesses of course appears in mythology and folklore. Think Jack and the Beanstalk and David and Goliath. But how do giants end up being objects of erotic desire, expressed in both gay and straight pornography? That's asking a person to take a giant leap (pun intended) even in the diverse world of fetishes. 
 

A few observations to provoke some thought: 

Many times what interests a person as a child becomes erotic in adolescence. Relevant macrophiliac influences could range from Gulliver's Travels and Land of the Giants to Japanese anime characters and Dungeons and Dragons. The raw material is there, in abundance. 

In terms of fetishes, if one has a foot fetish, which is a really popular one among gay macrophiles, obviously it's linked to the crush fetish (see below), seeing the object that close up, with all its details, would definitely be very exciting, even orgasmic. There's also hints of macrophilia in short guys who like tall guys, getting turns on the height difference, and an even more obvious relationship in guys who like muscles and fantasize about growing the biggest muscles ever. And those muscle gods just keep on growing … 

More significantly, it's a given that sex and power are closely related, and the power dynamic in macrophilia is power taken to the nth degree. Kind of like a BDSM dynamic writ large, literally. In a more extreme variant of this fetish, many macrophiles fantasize about being stomped and crushed by the giant. A "sick" snuff wish? Not literally in most cases, but another word for orgasm in French, petit mort, means "little death." The physical and mental experience of orgasm, when time stops and space both contracts and expands in that exquisite moment of release, resembles the ultimate trip all humans have to take, death.
